Cuyahoga Soil & Water Conservation District (SWCD) will award grants, scholarships, rebates and/or vouchers to support conservation efforts in Cuyahoga County. Successful project applications are those related to environmental and conservation programs with a special emphasis on engaging underserved populations or those with financial barriers to project implementation.
Cuyahoga SWCD established the Conservation Action Grant & Scholarship Fund to raise and distribute funds for the implementation of conservation projects to improve water quality and soil health. While primarily focused on soil and water quality, these projects will also benefit wetlands, forestry, carbon offsets, pollinators, native plants, birds and other wildlife populations in Cuyahoga County.
Cuyahoga SWCD will offer reimbursement grants and scholarships up to $1000 based on project or scholarship type, demonstrated need and benefit. Grants are awarded twice per year, in March and September.
Note that grantees who receive more than $600 in one year must provide information for the IRS 1099 (income) form.
Eligible costs for reimbursement will NOT include:
• Staff time
• Consultant costs
• Beverages, including bottled water (Cuyahoga SWCD strives to reduce plastic waste)
Applications for the 2022 Program Year are now closed. Please check back in 2023!
